Throughout our service area Solaris teams up with doctors who serve as our Medical Directors. These physicians help oversee patient care. They work alongside the primary physicians of our patients to provide the best medical care possible.


Dr. Jason Tibbels
Executive Medical Director


Dr. Jason TibbelsDr. Jason Tibbels serves as the Solaris Executive Medical Director. Through this full-time position, he is playing an integral role in advancing our commitment to excellence and innovation in palliative medicine.

A strong belief in the importance of hospice and palliative care led Dr. Tibbels to fully dedicate his practice to caring for the terminally ill. This area of medicine has always been a passion for him and he is grateful for the opportunity to serve both the patient and family during an important time in their lives.

Growing up in Decatur, Texas, Dr. Tibbels watched his father, Dr. Kelley Tibbels, model the importance of a caring physician. After graduating summa cum laude from the University of North Texas, he went on to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. Dr. Tibbels was named to the prestigious AOA Medical Honor Society and was also the recipient of the Texas Academy of Family Physicians Outstanding Graduate Award. He is board certified in family medicine as well as hospice and palliative medicine.
